When to go

Spring: One of the best times to visit: warm days, cool evenings, and the medina and gardens comfortable before summer heat arrives.
Summer: Genuinely hot, often well above 35°C by day — a season to plan around rather than aim for, with midday better spent indoors or by a pool.
Autumn: Warm and increasingly comfortable from late September, with an appeal similar to spring as the summer heat eases.
Winter: Mild and sunny by day, but riads and older buildings are often unheated, so mornings and evenings can be genuinely cold indoors as well as out — worth packing for both extremes, not just the daytime forecast.
