Privacy Policy

Last updated: 8 August 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what information Capycation does and does not collect when you use the site. We have built the site to need as little personal data as possible: no ad networks, no third-party analytics vendors, and no cross-site tracking.

1. No account needed

Capycation does not require you to create an account or sign in, and we do not ask for your name, email address or any other contact details to browse the site. What little we do store is described below, and you can refuse the optional parts - see section 5 and section 7.

2. Cookies we set

We set a small number of first-party cookies. None of them are advertising cookies and none are shared with ad networks:

  • capy-consent - stores your cookie-consent choice so we do not ask you again on every visit, and so partner content stays off until you have said yes.
  • capy-origin - the departure airport you chose, so flight ideas and prices start from the right place next time.
  • capy-cf-ip - a country hint derived from your connection when the page was served, used to suggest a display currency. It stores a country code, not your IP address.

You can clear any of these at any time through your browser settings. The site keeps working without them; you will simply be asked for consent and a departure airport again.

3. Analytics

We run our own pageview analytics on our own infrastructure. It is first-party: no analytics script from Google, Meta or any other third party loads on this site, and no data about your visit is sent to an ad network. We use it in aggregate - which pages are read, roughly where visitors come from, which searches find us - to decide what to improve. We do not use it to identify individual visitors and we do not sell it.

4. Partner content and embeds

Some pages can show partner content, such as the Stay22 accommodation map (an embedded iframe from Stay22). Partner embeds load only after you accept partner content in the consent prompt - before that, nothing is requested from the partner and no partner cookie can be set. When an embed does load, the partner processes your visit under its own privacy policy, which we encourage you to read.

5. Outbound-click logging

When you click an outbound link to a travel partner, we log the click on our own infrastructure. We store: which partner and destination URL the link pointed to, the page you clicked from, the time, and a random click identifier. We use this to see which content is genuinely useful, to reconcile partner reporting, and to detect click flooding and other abuse. The log is not joined to a name or email address - we do not have those - and it is not shared with ad networks.

6. Third-party services

The site links out to external suppliers (flights, stays, tickets, activities). When you follow a link and land on their site, their own privacy policies apply. How those links relate to commission is set out in our affiliate disclosure.

7. Your rights (GDPR)

If you are in the EU/EEA or the UK, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, the right to data portability, and the right to withdraw consent at any time (withdrawing consent does not affect processing that happened before you withdrew it). You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

Because we hold so little, most requests are simple: clearing your cookies removes everything stored in your browser, and the click log contains no identity to look you up by. If you still want to exercise any of these rights, or ask what we hold, contact us and we will respond.

8. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The date above shows when this version was last updated.
