Three European Christmas markets have a genuine nonstop connection from Larnaca or Paphos this winter — Budapest and Prague from Larnaca, Vienna from Paphos — each around three to four hours in the air in our recent fare data (Sep 2026), which is short enough for a long weekend rather than a trip that eats a day at either end.

Vienna also flies from Larnaca, but on the routing seen at that time that one carried a connection; Paphos was the nonstop option. The safest pick on dates: both central markets run 28 November to 6 January without a published gap, including through 24–26 December. Old Town Square and Wenceslas Square are five minutes apart, so three to four nights covers both without rushing.

The most market variety of the three, but the markets don't share one calendar — six close on 23 December and only Schönbrunn and the Prater winter market run to 6 January, so a four-night trip in early-to-mid December sees more of them than one timed for Christmas week itself.

What a Cyprus December doesn't prepare you for
In Larnaca and Paphos, December’s average daily high is around 19°C (monthly climate averages) — mild jacket weather. All three picks above average close to freezing in December, with overnight lows below zero in Prague and Vienna and around zero in Budapest. Pack for genuine winter — coat, hat, gloves — not for a heavier version of a Cyprus evening.
Cyprus public holidays around the trip
Cyprus's own fixed public holidays over the period are 25 and 26 December (Christmas Day and the Second Day of Christmas) and 1 January (New Year's Day), which is what makes the four weekends between late November and Christmas the natural window for a market trip without needing to take annual leave around the holidays themselves.
