Eight cities have a genuine nonstop connection from Larnaca or Paphos this winter, from a two-hour hop to Athens to nearly four hours to Prague — each checked against our own fare data rather than assumed. Paphos flies a different, smaller set of routes than Larnaca, so which airport you use changes which cities are actually on the table.

These are nonstop routings seen in our fare data as of September 2026, not a schedule guarantee — airlines add and drop routes between seasons. Larnaca also carries nonstop fares this winter to Amsterdam, Belgrade, Berlin, Bratislava, Bucharest, Chisinau, Dubai, Paris, Madrid, Sofia, Vilnius, Yerevan and Heraklion, and a nonstop to Tel Aviv — none are covered as picks below, either because they sit outside a genuine winter-city-break shape (Dubai, Heraklion) or, for Tel Aviv specifically, because it carries an active UK travel-advisory register entry on its own destination page that this guide does not repeat or contradict. Paphos isn't a smaller Larnaca — it's a different map
Paphos' own nonstop network this winter, in the same fare data, is Vienna (about 3h 20, used above), Athens (about 1h 35, shorter than Larnaca's own Athens fare), Thessaloniki (about 2h), Sofia (about 2h 10), Rome (about 3h 15) and a longer seasonal-looking service to Edinburgh (about 5h 30). Four of those six overlap with Larnaca's list under a different flight time; Vienna and Edinburgh do not appear nonstop from Larnaca at all in this window. A trip planned around Paphos genuinely is a different shortlist, not a thinner copy of Larnaca's.
Under three hours: Athens and Thessaloniki
The two shortest hops from Larnaca, and genuinely different trips: ancient-site density in one, a long waterfront and hillside old town in the other.
Athens
The shortest flight on this list and the only pick here with a direct metro line from the terminal into the centre, rather than a bus or taxi transfer. Two nights covers the major ancient sites; three or four allow a slower pace through the museums and neighbourhoods, per the destination’s own trip-length note.

Thessaloniki
Equally quick from Larnaca, but a different city: a long waterfront promenade and an uphill old town rather than ancient-site density. The site’s own note says a flight this short means two nights already gives real time on the ground, not a day eaten each way.

Belgrade
The shortest of the longer-haul group: a Danube-Sava crossroads city with a hilltop old town and strong café and bar culture. The site’s own trip-length note puts two to four days as enough to see the city without rushing.

A Danube capital split between hilly Buda and flat Pest, with thermal baths and enough separate districts that the destination’s own note recommends more than a weekend. December here averages around 5°C — some 14 degrees cooler than a Larnaca December, so this is a coat-and-hat trip, not a heavier version of a Cyprus evening.

Large enough that the destination’s own note asks for three nights as a first pass and up to a week for slower, neighbourhood-based exploring. December here is genuinely the mildest of this group at around 14°C — but also the wettest, so pack for rain more than for cold.

Venice
The shortest airport transfer of this whole group at about 8km, and the only one reached by boat rather than road from the terminal. Two to four nights lets you cross multiple sestieri before the compact core starts to feel repetitive, per the site’s own note.

The longest flight on this list, and the coldest December — averaging around 5°C with overnight lows commonly below freezing, so pack for genuine winter. The destination’s own note suggests three nights for a first visit focused on the historic core, stretching to five for the residential districts beyond it.

Larnaca’s own December averages around 19°C by day — mild jacket weather. Every pick above runs noticeably cooler, and the gap widens the longer the flight.
