Stops are grouped into walkable areas before another attraction is added.
Athens itineraries for 2, 3, 4 or 5 days
Choose by the time you actually have. Every guide changes its route, compromises and daily rhythm; the longer versions do more than append another sightseeing day.

Start with the constraint that matters
Visit time, transfers, meal breaks and the main compromise are visible before you open a guide.
2A calm Athens weekend
See the ancient core and still have enough unplanned time for Athens to feel like a break, not a checklist.
Main compromise: There is no separate museum district or coast day. If the National Archaeological Museum is a priority, replace the final Psyrri block rather than adding it on top.
3The best first visit
Give ancient Athens, a major museum and modern neighbourhood life their own space instead of compressing everything into one long centre day.
Main compromise: The coast and the Panathenaic Stadium stay optional. Adding either means removing a museum or viewpoint rather than lengthening an already full day.
4More depth, less pressure
Use the extra day to reduce pressure on every other day—not to create a fourth marathon of attractions.
Main compromise: This version deliberately excludes a coast excursion. The benefit is a city break with reliable downtime and room to revisit a favourite area.
5The city and a coastal reset
Build a complete city break, then use the fifth day for a genuine change of pace by the coast instead of more central-Athens filler.
Main compromise: The coast day needs favourable weather and at least half a day. If conditions are poor, use it as a flexible museum, food or repeat-neighbourhood day rather than forcing the excursion.Four planning jobs, not four doorway pages
The two-day guide protects the essentials. Three days creates a balanced first visit. Four days deliberately lowers the pressure. Five days earns the coast by budgeting the transfer and weather risk.
Each page separates visits, transfers and breaks instead of hiding them behind a list.
Every duration says what it leaves out, so the recommendation is easier to trust.
